Batching & QA Line Testing

SHIFT: Nights/Overnight
12 hour, 3 1/2 day work schedule. Hours are 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM (40 hours)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform QA line testing on source, in-process, finished goods, environmental air and surface sampling. Perform lab administrative functions including data entry and filing.
- Prepare, measure and weigh dry ingredients and stage for batching operations.
- Place product on hold and retest hold product.
- Perform sanitation clean in place (CIP) operations as needed.
- Assist in daily, weekly, monthly and yearly source, in-process, and finished product testing for subsequent reporting to Federal and State agencies.
- Stock, receive, label, log and inventory lab supplies.
SKILLS:
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- College coursework in Chemistry or Biology preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and good documentation practices preferred.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
- Experience in following recipes and formulating mixtures per manufacturers specifications in a production based facility preferred.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to remain focused and attention to detail is required.
- Proficiency in English language required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves long periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing and reaching for the duration of the shift. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Work may involve exposure to chemicals. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: seatbelt use, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, protective footwear, and hardhats. Clothing must be free of any frays, tears, strings, or embellishments. For safety reasons, clothing should not be oversized, or extremely loose fitting and shorts, if worn, must be a modest length. Employees are required to wear USH company logo shirts and protective footwear. Sleeveless shirts, open toe shoes, artificial nails/fingernail polish, and jewelry including piercings are not permitted.
